Wish your favorite websites had a mobile friendly version that you could use on your mobile phone or device? Even though mobile devices are outnumbering computers and each device will be able to browse the web, most websites (including mine) still don’t have a mobile version of their website available. That means that it’s nearly impossible to view a website on a cell phone or PDA because of the resolution.

Luckily, there are some tools out there that can convert those websites into mobile versions without the website owner having to do anything. So until your favorites sites update themselves (I will soon) so that when you connect using a mobile device, it detects it’s a mobile gadget and beams over the mobile optimized version, you can check out a cool service from Google that does it for you.

For some strange reason, this site is not advertised very heavily by Google and I didn’t even know about it till a few days ago. However, it works great and makes any website mobile friendly in seconds. The site itself doesn’t even have a name, so I’m going to call it the Mobile Conversion utility.

Enter the URL of the website and check whether or not you want pictures included. Click Go and you now have a mobile-optimized version of the site!



Simply bookmark the mobile conversion website on your phone, PDA, iPhone, etc and you will now be able to read your favorite blogs or websites easily. It strips out everything, including ads from the mobile page. However, it does keep all links intact, so any outgoing links will still remain.

Of course, if you’re a blogger or webmaster, you should still consider creating a mobile version of your website as this requires extra work from the readers and does not allow you to earn any revenue. There are two really cool web services that you can use to make your website mobile ready, MoFuse and Winksite.

Both have awesome features like the ability to have your website auto-detect a mobile user when they visit your site and send them the mobile version and the ability to create Google Sitemaps that you can use in the Webmaster tools.
